Season 5, Episode 2

Follow a creative non-fiction writing class and then moves on to a filmmakers studio to a give viewers a glimpse into the process of scoring a film.

The program begins with a reading about a visit to the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve, the setting is the recently revived Minnesota Northwoods Writers Conference at Bemidji State University, and author Joni Tevis, a Furman University Professor, is showcasing the art of non-fiction writing.

In the second part of the show “Common Ground” heads to the studio of Gary Burger, a Bemidji audio engineer and filmmaker to find out how he created music for the film, “Bemidji the Middle Years.” The piece includes some original music from Burger’s film.
