Click It Or Ticket Extra Enforcement To Start Friday

Law enforcement agencies across the state of Minnesota, are joining in on the Click It Or Ticket Extra Enforcement campaign.

Over 300 law enforcement agencies will be taking part in the Click It Or Ticket Extra Enforcement campaign that starts October 14th to October 30th, according to a press release. The campaign is coordinated through the Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety.

The message of the campaign is to show drivers how important seat belts are and how they can save lives.

“Whether it’s unbuckling to reach down for something or not buckling because you are just a few blocks away from your destination, it only takes one time for tragedy to strike,”  said Donna Berger, Office of Traffic Safety director.

The 2016 Minnesota Observational Seat Belt Survey shows that in 2016, 93.2% of drivers used their seat belts. This number of drivers using their seat belt is down 0.8% from 2015’s 94%.

State law requires motorists to be wearing their seat belts at all times while operating their vehicles.
