The city of Clearbrook is gearing up for their 29th annual summerfest, but this old event has a new name. This year, the city has renamed the even to “Gibberfest” in honor of former Mayor Mike Gibeau. Gibeau was mayor of Clearbrook for about ten years, and was instrumental in starting the summerfest tradition.

Most of the activities start tomorrow, but today everyone was invited to enjoy some free milk and cookies at First State Bank. Tonight, people will visit Kloster Park for the “Gibberfest” softball tournament, something very close to Gibeau’s heart.

City officials say the event will be fun for everyone and is the perfect way to continue Gibeau’s legacy. Gibberfest will run throughout the weekend, and will also feature a fireman’s water fight and kiddie parade.
