Clearbrook-Gonvick Girls Basketball Seeking First Northwoods Conference Title

Just 45 minutes north of Bemidji, in the town of Clearbrook, the Clearbrook-Gonvick high school girls’ basketball team is doing something special. The team is off to a 15-2 start, and they’re poised to do something this season they’ve never done before. With a perfect 10-0 record in Northwoods Conference play, the Clearbrook-Gonvick girls’ basketball team has their eyes set on a conference title; which they’ve never done before. It shouldn’t come as any surprise though, as the team didn’t graduate a single player off last year’s team that lost in the Section 8A final.

Two of those players are 1,000-point scorers Madi Stenzel and Liz Bodensteiner. Both say they never would have reached the mark without their team, which has only helped the Bears succeed. Because of that success the girls do have hopes beyond the conference title, but they just need to take it on a game-by-game basis.
