A program at the Northwest Indian OIC in Bemidji is offering Native American students a new professional opportunity.

It’s a program that specifically hopes to bridge a racial gap in the field’s employment. Sanford Health in Bemidji is working with the OIC to create opportunities, and the CNA program is a way to get involved in the nursing business.

United States census data from 2010 says Minnesota has the lowest educational attainment rate for Native Americans in the country.
