Central Lakes College Professor Wins Excellence In Teaching Award

Tanya Hoting Mrazek, an American Sign Language professor at Central Lakes College, was recently awarded an Excellence in Teaching award by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees.

Hoting Mrazek was one of six educators throughout the state to win the award this year. She has been a professor at CLC for over twenty years, and says what she enjoys most about teaching is her students. Hoting Mrazek is the fifth professor from Central Lakes College to win the award.

“I really have a passion for ASL, and a passion to share that with American Sign Language students so that they can go out and be an ally in the deaf community,” Hoting Mrazek said. “We have a large group of deaf people in the United States who need access to communication.”

Tanya Hoting Mrazek was also named CLC’s Outstanding Educator for the 2018-2019 school year.
