Carnegie Project Faces Delays

The Carnegie Library in Bemidji could be restored, but it likely won’t happen for another year.

This comes after an application for legacy funding in Minnesota was filled out incorrectly. The group was denied the funding and remains short of the $1.6 million it needs to complete restoration of the project.

They hope to take down some walls that aren’t part of the original structure on the main floor. Wood panels will remain in place on other walls.

Tenant space will be available for rent on the basement level.
