Businesses Pledge Support to Bemidji Soldiers

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a U.S. Department of Defense program that helps reserve soldiers with the problems they face.

Their issues range from difficulties in finding employment to challenges in keeping work. It often proves difficult to schedule a full-time job when they may be called away to serve or take on an extended training period.

This challenge led to the signing of an ESGR Statement of Support document by over twenty businesses in the Bemidji area on Monday. In taking part, these businesses plan to find National Guard soldiers for employment and help their families if training or deployment causes finances to become strained.

First National Bank Bemidji, Sanford Health and Lakeland Public Television, among other businesses, took the pledge.
