Building Lost In Early Friday Morning Fire In Staples

A storage building was destroyed in a fire early Friday morning in Staples.

According to the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately Friday, April 12, 2019, the sheriff’s office along with the Staples Police Department responded to a structure fire in the 1400 block of 8th Street NE in Staples.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene, the west end of the building was fully engulfed in flames. The fire was quickly brought under control after the Staples Fire Department arrived.

Some contents in the west end of the storage building were saved while the rest of the building and its contents was a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office, the Staples Police Department, and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.
