BSU’s Flammang, Former Area Hockey Players Nominated for 2026 Hobey Baker Award

It’s still 77 days until a winner is crowned, but nominees for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award have been announced, and BSU senior forward Adam Flammang was among them.

Flammang is an alternate captain for the Beavers and has six goals and 18 assists in 22 games played this season.

Three area players were also nominated for the award: Brainerd’s Eric Pohlkamp, a former Beaver defenseman who now plays at Denver, and brothers Hampton and Grant Slukynsky from Warroad, who both won a national title last year at Western Michigan.

The Hobey Baker is given to the top NCAA men’s ice hockey player in the nation that also shows exemplary character. 87 players from 48 D1 schools made the fan ballot list that can be voted on by the public from now until Mar. 8, when the 10 finalists will be announced.
