BSU to Have Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Renovated Integrated Media Facilities

Bemidji, MN – Bemidji State University will dedicate a of $1 million total renovation of its student media facilities that will mirror the fact paced environment of modern journalism and marketing communications.

On December 7th at 3:30 p.m., following brief remarks and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, faculty and students will guide visitors through the facilities. The open house will continue through 5 p.m.

The change is so effective that BSU is changing their academic program’s name from mass communications to integrated media. The Student Media Center is at the heart of the transformation. It includes radio, video, television, online and print distribution channels in a single learning environment.

Remodeling began in the spring of 2015 when Lakeland Public Television moved out of the space into the new building by the Sanford Center.
