Brainerd’s League of Women Voters Push for Cleaner City

More power, a grand event space and a lower unemployment rate. All of these have factored in what Brainerd Mayor James Wallin says has allowed Brainerd to take a giant step forward in 2014. During a meeting last week with Brainerd’s League of Women Voters, Mayor Wallin said how important it is to the city to have a new event center at the train depot, new businesses taking old vacant stores and buying the paper mill dam to help power the city.
Among the future projects is a river walk development, which the League of Women Voters like because they think it’ll attract more businesses to Brainerd and give them more nice places in town to visit.
And one of the areas the League of Women Voters would like to see improved about Brainerd is the overall cleanliness of the city.
The League of Women Voters and Mayor Wallin also talked about the improvements the Brainerd Lakes Area Development Corporation and Brainerd Chamber of commerce have made in the last year.
