Brainerd’s “Best-Kept Secret”

Cindy Moore founded the Brainerd/Baxter Youth Center in 2009. Many may know of the center by their other name, The Shop. Or, many may not have heard of it at all.

Moore spoke with members of the League of Women Voters today to help spread the word about her little secret. While The Shop has been known to be Brainerd’s best-kept secret for years, the hope is to spill the beans and make sure everyone knows about them. However, being the “best-kept secret” isn’t always a good thing, which is why Moore feels the need to finally spill the beans.

The Shop usually hosts about 40-50 kids at a time. They range in age from 14-22, and they offer a wide variety of programs and activities for them to utilize.
