Brainerd Students Raise the Bar and Funds During Liftathon

Over 100 eighth through twelfth graders hit the weight room hoping to meet some of their personal bests in the bench press, squat, and hang clean lifts.

Both one male and female winner are chosen in the Liftathon who preform one repetition of each lift at their maximum weight. Their top lifts are then calculated in relation to their body weight creating to their most pound per ounce total.

Each year the Liftathon raises around fifteen thousand dollars for local Brainerd organizations; all in large part to students putting in the time to lift some iron.
