Brainerd Searches For Two New City Officials

Fire Chief Kevin Stunek serves about 4 decades with Brainerd Fire Department and Patrick Wussow served as City Administrator for little over a year. To hire a new fire chief Brainerd is getting the help of the Police and Fire Civil Service Commission. They will receive applications until May First and recommend up to three candidates for the city to choose from. And the city trusts the commission’s experience.

For the Brainerd City Administrator, Brainerd is already through the first round of applications. They chose five applicants from a pool of 42. With one already dropping out the city will interview the remaining four to see whom best fits what they’re looking for.

Brainerd hopes to have a new City Administrator by early to mid May and a new full time fire chief by early July.
