Brainerd Man Sentenced to 42 Years in Prison for Sexual Assault of Family Members

A 24-year-old Brainerd man who has been sentenced to 42 years in prison on four felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexual assaulting several family members.

Rutger Raymond Roehner pleaded guilty to all four counts back in April. According to the criminal complaint in the case, Roehner estimated he sexually assaulted four victims 20 times and that the assaults happened when he was between 15 and 17 years old.

Roehner was sentenced to 12, 15, and 30 years in prison on the first three counts, respectively, with the counts running concurrently for a total of 30 years. He was also sentenced to 12 years in prison on the fourth count, which will run consecutively to the other three.
