Brainerd Man In Custody After Bar Stabbing

BRAINERD- According to the Brainerd Police Department, a Brainerd man is in custody after reportedly stabbing another man in downtown Brainerd Friday evening.

Troy Stalboerger,  44, was arrested Friday night and is being held in the Crow Wing County Jail on charges of first- and second-degree assault.

Brainerd Police Officers were called to investigate around 10:45 PM Friday outside the Iron Rail Saloon where a 24-year-old man was in critical condition following a serious single puncture wound to the abdomen and significant bleeding.

The victim was transported to a Twin Cities area hospital where he is in critical condition.

Police are still investigating what lead to the assault. They do not believe the suspect and victim knew each other prior to this incident.
