Brainerd Man Arrested For Stabbing Brother

A Brainerd man is in jail after reportedly stabbing his older brother.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a stabbing victim was at St. Joseph’s E.R. at around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies learned that the stabbing had occurred at a residence on the 4000 block of Sweet Road in Brainerd and that the victim and suspect are brothers.

The victim, a 27-year-old male from Brainerd, was flown down to North Memorial Hospital where he underwent surgery. He is currently recovering and listed in stable condition.  

Deputies located the suspect, a 23-year-old male from Brainerd, and arrested him. He is currently being held in the Crow Wing County Jail awaiting arraignment for numerous charges including: Attempted first-degree murder, attempted first-degree manslaughter and first-degree assault.  

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Brainerd and Baxter Police Depts.
