Brainerd Jaycees Honored for Work on This Year’s Ice Fishing Extravaganza

Every month in Brainerd, the city awards a Community Member of the Month award…but this month it was awarded to a specific group.

Brainerd Mayor Dave Badeaux said during the most recent city council meeting that this was a special scenario to celebrate a group of volunteers involved with the recent Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza. A Jaycees member himself, Badeaux thanked the smaller staff this year for their hard work pulling off the statewide contest as a virtual event.

In all, the Jaycees verified 10,450 photos from 4,700 contestants.
