Brainerd Girls Alpine Ski Looks to Defend State Title

Two years ago, this group of girls missed going to state by one one-hundredth of a second. But the program took a leap forward last winter when they captured the state championship.

The warrior team is loaded again with five of the six individuals returning from the defending champs team. With the top four out of six scoring for the team score, they know they have the depth to be successful.

And going into sections on Thursday as the defending state champions, they know what it takes to go just a little bit further, its now a matter of making it all happen.

Going up against 21 other teams in their section they will have to earn their position to defend the title, but they have already started preparation during practice.

But it will all come down to their performance on Thursday to determine their outcome.
