Brainerd Area’s Northland Arboretum Prepping for ‘Haunted Trails’ Fundraiser

The Northland Arboretum in the Brainerd Lakes Area is getting ready for its biggest fundraiser of the year, the Haunted Trails.

The Halloween event will take place on October 16-18 from 7 to 9 p.m. The event features three haunted trails to take with “low,” “high,” and “insane” scare levels. Each one is crafted to give guests a good fright at whatever intensity they choose.

“In the low scare, they don’t do any jump-scaring, so if you have little kids and you want to take them on the low scare, it’s a great time,” said Trevor Pumnea, Northland Arboretum Executive Director.

Funds raised from the event will go towards improving and expanding the arboretum.

“The fundraiser really supports all of our conservation efforts,” Pumnea added. “It allows us to keep operating and allows us to do prairie restorations and build bike parks and playgrounds, and maybe one day disc golf and forest ice skating. Who knows what will come?”

Volunteers are still needed for the event. Anyone interested can email [email protected].
