BLA Businesses Bouncing Back After Violent Storm

Last month’s violent storm blazed a trail from the southwestern corner of Gull Lake up threw Nisswa, downing trees and closing businesses. Cragun’s Resort lost power for about a week and saw 24 of their cabins damaged. Despite the storm the Brainerd Lakes business community pulled together to keep the tourists in the resorts.

Last week the big three resorts, Cragun’s, Madden’s and Grand View Lodge, went on a local radio show to help spread the word that the Brainerd Lakes Area is still open and the resorts will be back soon. The meeting also talked about a new app for the Brainerd Lakes Area that’ll let tourists and locals find everything from restaurants and hotels to cruises and electronics.

Before this month’s storm the Brainerd Lakes Area was on pace to break tourism records. And local businesses are out reminding tourist the Brainerd Lakes Area is open for business.
