Bidding Begins To Build New School

The process to build the new Gene Dillon 4th and 5th Grade Elementary School began Thursday as the school district opened the bidding process.

The Bemidji School District has budgeted $31.4 million for the entire project. Bids as of Thursday totaled around $20.3 million with the most expensive bid totaled at $29.7 million.

I.S.D #31 staff and employees at Kraus- Anderson Construction will review the bids and will present recommended bids to the school board for approval later in December or January.

Back in 2014 the Bemidji School District voted to approve a tax increase in 2014 to build Gene Dillon Elementary School as well as spend $4 million dollars to renovate portions of the middle school.
