You may remember a story recently that featured Bemidji sled hockey player Chloe Kirkpatrick ahead of her trip to the Para Ice Hockey Women’s World Challenge in Green Bay. Now, Kirkpatrick and Team USA have returned as gold medalists for the second straight year.

Once again, the Red, White, and Blue rolled through the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record, beating Canada 2-0 in the championship game. Kirkpatrick was part of a defensive unit that did not allow a single goal during this year’s World Challenge.

Kirkpatrick was sidelined after suffering a concussion in last year’s opening game versus Canada, but this year she was able to finish on the ice when the clock hit zero. She told Lakeland News it was an “awesome” week in Green Bay but that it was a bit sad to go back home to school and work when the fun was done.

Team USA’s performance was dominant throughout the tournament, where they beat Canada the first time 3-0, Great Britain 7-0, Team World 7-0, and again defeated Canada 2-0 in the championship.
