About 350 Bemidji student-athletes used the summer for more than relaxing. The Lumberjacks hit the weight room hard for nine weeks.

The students begin with a basic routine as they learn movement patterns.  After developing muscle memory, the athletes move on to Olympic lifts like bench press, power cleans, and squats. The Olympic lifts help increase the athletes’ power.

The young Lumberjacks enjoy the physical gains, but hitting the weight room also provides mental benefits.
