Bemidji State Alumni Win Big On Election Night

Rita Albrecht (’01) will serve a third term as mayor of Bemidji. Albrecht defeated former Bemidji Mayor Richard Lehmann.

Ron Johnson (’75) was re-elected to Bemidji City Council as representative of Ward 3. This will be Johnson’s fifth term.

Associate professor of psychology, Dr. John Gonzalez (’99), was elected to the Bemidji School Board. Gonzalez will serve his first term on the board.

“I’m excited about it and grateful for the votes that I got,” Gonzalez told Lakeland News. “I’m hoping to be a voice and I’m hoping to make a change.”
