Bemidji Shooting Park To Host First Event

The Northland Regional Shooting Sports Park will host its inaugural event as the building process moves forward.

The Bemidji Area Shooting Association will host an ‘inaugural shot’ event on Friday, October 21 at 1 P-M. Beltrami County Commissioner Joe Vene will fire the first shot at the park.

According to the BASA website, the organization plans to hold open shoots, youth safety classes, action pistol, pre-deer season sight-in and other events once the park is open.

According to a site brochure, the area will be available for use by families, youth, and people of all shooting sport backgrounds.

Partners of the project include include Beltrami County, George W. Neilson Foundation, Northwest Minnesota Foundation, Northland Regional Shooting Sports Fund (NRSSF), Bemidji Area Shooters Association (BASA), Bemidji Trap & Skeet Club (BTSC) and the Headwaters Shooting Sports Association (HSSA).

The site will be operated maintained by various non-profit, public groups.

An update on the construction of the site will be presented at the Beltrami County Commissioner work meeting in Bemidji today.

The park is not yet open to the public.
