Bemidji Police Department Warns Of Fake Checks Being Passed Around The Area

The Bemidji Police Department is warning area businesses and banks that checks made in the account of “Brandon Smith Trucking” and being passed around in the area are not valid, as there is no such account. Many checks are being written to local eating establishments or in the name of individuals.

The suspect who passed the checks was described as a Caucasian male, tall and skinny with a mustache. The male was carrying a backpack and on foot.

Brandon Smith Trucking & Brandon Smith are not suspects in this case. These checks were reported stolen/lost and are believe to be being used by other people.

If you have contact with someone who tries to pass a check from this account, contact law enforcement right away so that they can identify this individual.
