Bemidji Murder Trial Begins
A trial started this week involving a 26-year-old Bemidji man who has been charged with felony murder.
Brian Keith Jourdain faces two counts of second-degree murder, one with and one without intent, in the death of 35-year-old Krista Marie Fisherman of Redby, Minn.
Fisherman was found lying in the show outside of a Bemidji apartment building on February 13, 2015. A criminal complaint filed at that time alleged that Jourdain stabbed her several times. It also said he sent out several texts and calls to his mother and grandmother in which he admitted to the crime, saying he did it because he was upset with her.
After an eight-hour jury selection process concluded on Monday, opening statements were read on Tuesday in the Beltrami County courthouse.
