Bemidji Hopes 2014 Governer’s Deer Opener Brings More Tourism

It was Bemidji’s chance to show Minnesota all it has to offer during this year’s Governor’s Deer Opener last weekend. While Bemidji prides itself on a wide range of activities this weekend most of the attention was on the deer habitats.
Hunting wasn’t the only thing on Bemidjis mind. They also held other community events for those who weren’t planning on climbing into a stand.
Tourism is a major economic drive in Minnesota and Bemidji hopes the 2014 Governor’s Deer Opener will increase their share of Minnesota’s tourism income.
Bemidji hospitalizes for hunters this weekend is something that starts at the mayor’s office and works its way down through the community.
