Bemidji High School Kicks Off Homecoming Week with New Events

Bemidji High School’s homecoming week officially started on Monday. Students and staff will enjoy a whole week’s worth of themed dress-up days and after-school activities.

The student council has spent the past several weeks planning their homecoming week, which includes several new elements such as a unified football game, powderpuff football, and Thursday night parade.

“I’m most looking forward to the parade because it’s just like a new thing this year,” said Bemidji High School Student Council Vice President Ella Hommes. “And we highly encourage all the community to come to that. That’s going to take place at 5 downtown. We hope a lot of people can come to that.”

“All of our activities, it doesn’t matter what season they’re in,” explained BHS Student Council Member Moraya Holleman. “If it’s a club, we even have a couple departments of academics in the school, they all have the chance to put together a float or signs or whatever they want to walk in this parade and really showcase to the community what the high school is all about, our amazing, amazing programs, and just to have a lot of fun, get that community spirit up for Friday.”

And on Friday night, Bemidji High School football will be hosting St. Cloud Tech at 7 p.m. at Chet Anderson Stadium. Before the game, students can also enjoy tailgating and free food at the high school.
