Bemidji Girls’ Volleyball: Kriens Resigns as Head Coach, De La Hunt To Lead Team

Another Bemidji High School coach has tendered their resignation.

Alicia Kriens, the girls’ head volleyball coach, has decided to step away from the Lumberjack program, making her the sixth BHS head coach to leave their post this off-season. Her decision was announced in an email sent by the school to media outlets earlier today.

Kriens has been the coach of the Jacks since 2018, compiling a 90-121 record. Her best seasons with the team started in 2023 when the Lumberjacks when 15-15 and made an underdog run to the section title game as a 7-seed. The following year, the Jacks went 19-11 before a first-round exit in the section playoffs.

Kriens will be replaced by assistant coach LeeAnne De La Hunt, who is also a Bemidji Middle School special education teacher. De La Hunt was an assistant with the varsity last season and before that coached at various levels within the program. This will be her first season as a varsity head coach.
