Bemidji Area Schools Looks at Ways to Address Budget Deficit

The Bemidji Area School District is continuing to look at ways to address an upcoming budget deficit.

The district did not make any changes on Thursday night, but the conversation is getting heavy. Potential budget recommendations that could cut the district’s budget included closing school buildings, restructuring the high school’s schedule, reallocation of grade levels and staffing.

The district will be meeting on February 22 to discuss further recommended cuts, including the closure of Central Elementary. The meeting can be viewed on the district’s YouTube channel.
