Bemidji Area Residents to Join Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Bemidji area residents will join the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease this Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Organizers say it’s the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

Check-in and registration for the event is at 9 AM at the Sanford Center with the opening ceremony and walk slated to begin at 10 AM.

COVID-19 protocols at the event follow local, state, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations, including contactless registration, physical distancing, hand sanitizing stations, and more. Per CDC guidelines around crowded outdoor settings, the Association asks that all Walk attendees be vaccinated against COVID-19 or wear a mask when in an overcrowded area. Masks will be available on-site.

Supporters are also welcome to walk from home by engaging in many Walk-day experiences through the Alzheimer’s Association website and mobile app, available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
