Beltrami County to Swear in Commissioners on January 5

According to a release from Beltrami County, on Jan. 5, 2021, Beltrami County will be swearing in three commissioners that were re-elected this year.

A few close family members to the commissioners will be invited to attend to watch Judge Melbye swear in each commissioner individually. According to the release, the people that do attend this event must practice social distance and mask protocols. There will also be no reception after the event.

The times of each commissioner being sworn in are as follows:

  • District 4 Commissioner Tim Sumner will be sworn in from 1 PM to 1:15 PM.
  • District 2 Commissioner Reed Olson will be sworn in from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM.
  • District 5 Commissioner Jim Lucachick will be sworn in from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM.

During the actual board meeting, the county will host a virtual swearing-in ceremony using Zoom.

Correction: our original story stated that Sumner, Olson, and Lucachick were “new” commissioners, but all three were already serving terms on the Beltrami County Board and were re-elected as incumbents. We regret the error.
