Bean Hole Days 2014
The Pequot Lakes Pit Crew busted out the giant cauldrons known as Thor, Ole, Sven, Lena, Big Bertha, and Baby Olga for the annual Bean Hole Days Celebration. More than two thousand visitors gathered in Pequot Lakes for the bean feed. The pit crew divided 350 pounds of beans into six different cauldrons varying in size from 30 to 45 gallons. The beans roasted slowly over warm coals, underground, overnight. Before the beans could be served, new royalty had to be crowned to declare the beans ready to eat. We get the first interviews with the newly crowned 2014 Bean King and Queen Steve LaBarre and Kim Churack.
