Baxter Hosts Walk to Cure Arthritis

They came on two legs and on 4 to raise money to find a cure for arthritis. More than 400 participants walked or jogged the three-mile course along the Paul Bunyan Trials near the Northland Arboretum Saturday. And organizers say walking isn’t just a good way to raise money, but also a way to combat the disease.

14-year-old Miss Jr. Teen Minnesota Kathryn Sundquist who helped organized the walk and has juvenile arthritis says she has to take 2 shots of Enbrel weekly and two doses of Advil everyday to aliveit the pain and swelling. And she says getting the treatment in some areas is the hard part.

Walkers teamed up to support each other and to raise money. They also filled out cards of who they were walking for to honor family and friends who live with arthritis.

Organizers say they were able to raise close to $40,000 dollars this weekend to help finds a cure for arthritis.
