Authorities Update Minnesota Storm Damage

Authorities spent time on Tuesday morning assessing the damage from storms that passed through Minnesota on June 19.

According to a report from the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, the primary damage occurred in the Nokay Lake Road and Highway 6 area of Deerwood.

Homes, vehicles and other property were damaged in the storms. Most people who lost power now have it back.

Authorities say there were no eyewitness accounts of a tornado, but funnel clouds were spotted in the county and intense downbursts did occur. In some areas, the wind speed was greater than 110 miles per hour.

In response to an EMS call, authorities rescued two adults and a child who were trapped in a home.

The National Weather Service Office is expected to have more information in the next several days.
