ATV Crash Sends Brainerd Man To The Hospital

A Brainerd man was sent to the hospital on Friday after his ATV crashed into a snowplow ridge ejecting him from the vehicle.

On March 22, 2019 at approximately 9:27 am, Crow Wing County deputies responded to Lennox Road near the intersection of Koering Road on a report of an ATV crash with injuries.

Upon arrival, the driver, an 80-year-old male from Brainerd, was treated on scene and was airlifted by North Memorial Air Care from the scene to St. Cloud Hospital. The victim’s condition is stable with non-life threatening injuries according to family members.

Upon investigation it is believed the crash occurred while the driver was traveling east on Lennox Road south of Brainerd. The ATV the victim was driving had a snowplow attached to it, and the snowplow struck a previously formed snowplow ridge, causing the driver to be thrown from the ATV.

Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard wishes to remind the pubic of various environmental hazards that are currently present due to snow and ice melt. Drivers of all types should use caution while traveling and be aware of rapidly changing ice and flooding conditions.
