Arboretum Fit Trail Taking Shape

In August the trail will be cut and paved and the first four workout stations will be installed. The fit trail will allow runners and walkers to workout on the trail while stopping at different workout stations along the way.

Today the arboretum cut the trails and ordered the equipment for the first four stations. And the excavators say working on an old landfill has made it tough to cut a trail that’s safe and accessible.

The new trail would allow runners and walkers to not just track how far they’ve gone but also what workouts they’ve completed during their circuit.

The arboretum says they’re looking to raise another $80,000 to be able to add the rest of the equipment for the eight other workout stations to complete the two-mile workout circuit.
