Aitkin’s 25th Annual Fish House Parade

Fish houses filed down the streets of Aitken once again this year. Celebrating a milestone, in it’s 25th year the city of Aitken celebrated its annual World Famous Fish House Parade.

Parade goers were bundled up in 20 degree weather, lining the the streets of downtown Aitkin to catch a glimpse of the parade like no other.

Now, that’s coming from a group of boys who have been going for 11 years now. But even for first timer Kelly Betcher and her family, who traveled from the Rochester area, they too had a good time.

The real Minnesota spectacle is watching decorated ice fishing houses parade down the streets.

From rocket ships to redneck festivals, some come for the parade and some for the sweets.

But it’s an on going tradition that brings families for their first or keep them coming back.
