Aitkin Baseball Looks To Make Another Run At State

On the south side of the train tracks at the city park in Aitkin, the baseball team is doing something special. Coming off their first state berth in school history, the Gobblers have hit the ground running with a 12-2 record this season. This year’s squad is young, featuring only four seniors, but they still outscore opponents by a near eight run clip. And they say their success starts with fundamentals. And although the Gobblers made it to the state tournament for the first time in school history last season, they say it would not be a disappointment if they didn’t make it back this year. But they say if they make it back, they will feel more prepared.
