Absentee Ballots Now Available in Brainerd

Crow Wing County voters planning to make their decisions before election day can now receive absentee ballots.  The ballots allow residents to vote early by mail or in person regardless of circumstance.

Interested voters can submit an absentee ballot application online or download and submit a paper copy of an application by visiting the county’s website. Military and overseas voters will need to fill out a separate application through the state.

“Absentee voting is available to any eligible voter who chooses to cast a ballot prior to election day,” stated Deborah Erickson, the administrative services director of Crow Wing County, in a press release. “Voting booths are set up at our offices for people to vote in person, or a ballot can be mailed out by request.”

The application is available 45 days prior to the election, and must be completed before the absentee vote can be issued.

In-person voting hours are Monday through Friday from 8 A-M to 5 P-M at the Crow Wing County Elections office on the second floor of the Historic Courthouse, at 326 Laurel Street in Brainerd. In addition to regular voting hours, Crow Wing County election offices will be open extended hours on Thursday, October 27th until 7 PM. It will also be open on Saturday, November 5th, from 9 A-M to 3 P-M.

The presidential election will be held on November 8th, 2016.
