Grand Rapids Man Charged with Controlled Substance Crime Appeared Before Itasca County District Court

According to a press release from the Office of the Itasca County Attorney John J.  Muhar reports on Monday, December 12, 2016, Steven Donald Storrs, age 60, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, appeared in Itasca County District Court for a sentencing hearing. Storrs previously pled guilty to committing the felony crime of Controlled Substance Crime in the First Degree. Storrs was arrested on May 4, 2016 after his vehicle was stopped in Grand Rapids by law enforcement and about 42 grams of suspected methamphetamine were seized from the vehicle. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Itasca County Sheriffs Office, who were assisted by the Grand Rapids Police Department. Upon the recommendation of the prosecutor, the court imposed a 103 month stayed prison sentence and placed Storrs on 10 years of supervised probation on multiple conditions including serving one year in jail.
