690 New COVID-19 Cases, 6 Deaths on Wednesday in Minnesota

Minnesota health officials reported six new COVID-19 deaths today, with one death in Itasca County of someone between the ages of 80 to 84.

There were 690 new cases of COVID-19 reported today, bringing the total number of cases to 92,100. The 690 cases came from 9,415 tests for a case positivity rate of 6.7%. The seven-day average testing positivity rate is at 4.6%, down from 4.8% last week. Health officials are watching this number closely and want to see it remain below 5%.

There are currently 303 people hospitalized because of the virus, up 13 from yesterday. 148 of those hospitalized are in ICU, up 12 from yesterday.

In the Lakeland viewing area, the state reported 74 new cases in the following counties:

  • Beltrami – 8
  • Cass – 6
  • Crow Wing – 18
  • Hubbard – 3
  • Itasca – 9
  • Koochiching – 7
  • Mille Lacs – 1
  • Morrison – 3
  • Polk – 17
  • Todd – 2
