Three Men Found Guilty in Terror Trial

Three Twin Cities men were found guilty Friday afternoon of conspiracy to commit murder outside of the United States.

Abdirahman Daud, Mohamed Farah and Guled Omar were charged with trying to commit murders on behalf of the terror group ISIS. All three were charged with one count each of conspiracy to commit murder outside the United States and conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. Those crimes carry maximum sentences of 15 and 20 years.

Moreover, Daud is additionally charged with perjury, Farah is charged with making false statements to FBI agents, and Omar is charged with student loan fraud.

The jury of five men and seven women weighed weeks of testimony as well as 350 exhibits shown in court. They deliberated for just over two hours Wednesday before going home.

The three young men could face a maximum sentence of life in prison upon conviction.
