19th Annual Anishinaabe Sobriety Run for Health

Wednesday morning marked the start of a four-day running event in Redby that promotes living a healthy and alcohol-free lifestyle.

Its called the Sobriety Run for Health, and the starting point was at the Red Lake Chemical Programs facility.

Before the run, there was a ceremony, prayers and a traditional offering of tobacco.

Runners will go through Red Lake and Bemidji, and they’ll end up in Fond du Lac for a final pow-wow celebration on Saturday, August 1 at the Mash-ka-wisen pow-wow grounds.
