14th Annual Minnesota Governor’s Deer Opener

The 2016 14th Annual Minnesota Governor’s Deer Opener is held at the Breezy Point Resort this year. Nearly half a million Minnesotans are expected to participate in the upcoming season.

Before the hunt begins on Saturday, Pequot Lakes students were invited to a Youth expo and the public was invited to an Outdoor Expo and to a “Welcome to Camp” Banquet at the resort.

While the hunting season has always been a special tradition in Minnesota, it’s also an important time for the economy and for regulating herd management.
