The U.S. Postal Service warns that an email scam has been reported statewide. Several postal customers in the Twin Cities, and other post offices in other areas of Minnesota, have received suspicious emails claiming to be from the Postal Service.

The email states that a delivery was attempted at the residence, but they were unable to do so. It may then notify the recipient to click on a link to print a delivery label in order to pick up the package at a local post office.

The link delivers malicious virus which could log keystrokes, therefore stealing personal identification information and account information.

The USPS says they will not notify customers about a package using email. Anyone who receives this email should forward it to [email protected] and delete the email.
