Update: Park Rapids Bomb Threat Resolved

Park Rapids, Minn. – In a press release published by Sgt. Dan Garner of the Park Rapids Police Department, law enforcement responded to a voice message of a bomb threat at the Area High School around 7:39 a.m.

According to the press release, “Local law enforcement responded to the scene…All students were safe and secured in Century School.”

No suspicious items were found during the investigation of school grounds. Again, according to the press release, “The report threat was a hoax and direct threat was ever acted upon.”

The phone number used to make the threats was tracked. Two juveniles were interviewed and arrested after admitting to making the call to the Area High School. Students were able to resume their normal day at 9:53 a.m.

Park Rapids Police Dept., Hubbard Co. Sheriff’s Office, MN State Patro, Paul Bunyan Task Force, Park Rapids School District Staff, Nevis School District staff, and Arvig Communications responded to the call and all assisted to Area High School.
